Stop that!

in Acts of Service

My bride sent this to her Generous Wife list recently. Here it is with appropriate pronoun changes:

If you do something that truly annoys your wife, respect her feelings and stop it (especially if it’s a destructive habit like biting your nails or chewing ice).

Loyalty in little things is a great thing.

I almost quit a budding romantic relationship, because she found out I was ticklish and thought it was cute and fun. I hated it. I tried to put up with it for a while, and then tried to gently warn her off from tickling me. I finally started to back off of the relationship and she realized I was very serious about not liking it. So she stopped tickling and we resumed our relationship. We've now been married for 26 incredible years. So communicate. Don't let a good thing go because you are too shy or embarrassed to bring up a dislike.
