As we age, the amount of testosterone we produce drops – that’s part of our design, and as annoying as it may be, it’s normal. However, for some men the drop is greater than what is normal, and that can lead to problems. Aside from the sexual problems you might expect, low T levels can cause or aggravate depression, anger, fatigue, sleep loss, muscle loss, bone loss, and weight gain. In some men low T can also increase the chance of of heart disease.
Fortunately low T is easily detected and easily treated. If you are over 40 and have seen significant changes in any of what I mentioned – with or without sexual problems, talk to your doctor. I know several men who say testosterone treatment radically changed their lives in many ways.
