I win! Now what?

“In life, unlike chess, the game continues after checkmate.” Isaac Asimov

If you see life as a game to play hard and win at all costs, what does that do to your “opponents”? More to the point, if you compete against your bride, what do you have after the checkmate?

On the other hand, if you and your bride are a team, then when one of you wins you both win, and when one losses you both lose. You are deeply invested in what matters to her because you want to win, and she wants to be invested in what matters to you for the same reason.

TWITTER? I finally have the TGH tips going to twitter. Of course, I can barely say hello in 140 characters, so what you get is the first few words and a link. If you would like to follow me this way, click here. In time, I will be sending other marriage and sexuality note to twitter, but I expect that is into next spring.

I have found that conflicts with my wife are a lose/lose situation. If I lose, I lose, but if I win then I REALLY lose. I agree that working as a team in which you each recognize the goals and priorities of the other is far closer to the way we were meant to live.
