I want to wish you all a very blessed Christmas. While the date is no doubt incorrect, celebrating the birth of Jesus is certainly good and valid. Thank you Lord Jesus that you loved us enough to come and do for us what we needed, could not do for ourselves, and did not deserve.

If any of you are interested in a very good article about the implications of the birth of Jesus, please see Christmas Reflections On House Church, Changing Paradigms and The Journey of The Magi by my friend Maurice Smith.

I think that article is simply amazing!! It is exactly spot-on with the way our own pastor would describe it, which only serves to confirm them both. As far as the date... Obviously, various people have given argument to support their own ideas. My thought is this: With religion, you have to justify every thought and opinion. You have to use legalism, show dogmatic reasoning, and "prove" your point. -BUT- With a relationship, you simply realize that the Law can't save you. NOTHING you can EVER do will be enough to pay the price that Jesus paid. With that in mind, you hear someone argue about His birthday... you nod, you smile, you wish them a very merry Christmas and the happiest of Holy Days, and you move on.
