Tax Warning

Tax Day © Joe Fallico | Dreamstime.comIf you are live in the States, this is your three month warning for Tax Day.

Yes, this is a marriage issue: each year many couples go through a great deal of stress over paying their taxes. Records are missing, something eats up the time set aside to do the taxes, or something unexpected happens with the numbers. The less time you have left when these problems arise, the more stress they put on each of you, and on your marriage.

Also, if you are a last minute person (I admit I tend to be that way) your bride almost certainly is NOT a last minute person. If this is the case, then bless her by having the taxes done and filed, or ready to drop in the mail, by the first of April.

I thank God I married an accountant. She finds ALL of the possible deductions and write-offs...ALL of them. Our income is relatively low & we have college expenses & operate a home-based "Mom & Pop" internet clothing store. We always end up ahead come tax time. Sad that it's all in danger of being taken away by our present presidential administration...........

Ugh... My least favorite part about tax time is waiting for the necessary paperwork to arrive. Once it does, I'll get the taxes prepared post-haste, but until then... I have it stuck in the back of my mind as I wait. .-= Matthew´s last blog ..Simple Recipes =-.

How about having them done by 2/14/11 -- very doable -- Valentine's Day present for your bride. Cost = Nothing but your time! =)
