Over controlling to make up for lack of control

in Marriage Killer, Series

Sometimes we respond to an area of our life where we don’t have control, or don’t have as much control as we would like, by over controlling in other areas. Similarly, we may react to being controlled by someone else (such as an employer, or a client we can’t afford to lose) by trying to exert control over someone else. Predictably, family members are the most common “victims” of these reactions.

Be honest with yourself – have you ever been guilty of this? If the boss is micro-managing you at work, do you go home and try to micro-manage how your bride does things around the house? When confronted with events that are out of your control, do you resent your bride having control over certain things in her life?
