Be a man of your word

“I’m merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.” V in V for Vendetta

Are you a man of your word? I don’t (just) mean at work and among your friends – are you a man of your word with your bride?

When you say you will do something, do you do it? Do you do it when and how you said you w0uld? Do you fail to do things and then blame her or something she did? Do you regularly “forget” promises? Do you hide things because you know she would not approve? Or, do you hide things because you know they will upset her and you figure it’s better to just deal with them yourself?

Beyond those obvious things, are you being honest with her about who you are? Are you being yourself, or do you keep parts of yourself from her? She needs to know the real you, the good and the bad, the fun and the not so fun. Anything you are trying to hide will likely come out eventually – better to be honest now than to be discovered later.
