I’m not that way, am I?
In my last post I mentioned that I had asked Lori if I did to her something I’d recently had done to me by someone. This is a fairly common question in our marriage. When we see anyone treating another in a way that seems rude, unloving, or wrong, we ask if we are guilty of that same thing – even if only in a small way.
I ask for two reasons. Firstly, I want to know if I have done that her, and secondly I want to know if I’ve done it to others. I find this a very good way of checking my own behaviour. Additionally, this makes me more aware of what I do, as I am regularly thinking about the ways I don’t want to act.
Give it a try and see if it helps you be a better husband – maybe even a better man!
