A Second Critical Question

Yesterday in Ask Yourself The Critical Question I echoed Kevin A. Thompson and said you should regularly ask yourself, “What in my life is keeping me from making a good decision?”

Today I want to add a second critical question you need to ask yourself often: “Have I received and understood my wife’s thoughts on this decision.”

A Second Critical Question

One reason for this is the whole two heads are better than one thing. Beyond things you might have missed, she will see things you would never see because of her different perspective. Her sex, her personality, life experience, and other things, means she sees life differently than you do. That different perspective is invaluable, and frankly only a fool would pass up the opportunity to benefit from it.

Aside from potentially helping you, it makes your wife feel valued, and that in itself is a great reason to do it. Besides, it’s a good plan to keep your wife in the loop with what’s going on in your life. Even if it doesn’t affect her directly, anything that affects you has an impact on her.
